Basic Drawing and Object, is a fundamental course that focuses on equipping students with the core skills needed to excel in the world of design and sculpture. This course lays the groundwork for developing a keen sense of two and three-dimensional form and refining visualization abilities through hands-on drawing practices. The primary objective is to empower students to visualize their thoughts and ideas effectively, whether for design. Through a series of structured exercises, students will learn to translate their creative concepts into tangible forms. By practicing with fundamental drawing techniques and tools, students will enhance their ability to perceive and represent two and three-dimensional objects. Students can expect to explore a variety of drawing exercises that will contribute to building their foundation in design. Basic Drawing and Object is the starting point for students who aspire to harness visual expression.

Graphic Design (2D) Workshop I is a practical-oriented course that aims to equip students with foundational graphic design skills. It focuses on creating basic design elements and combining them to develop new graphic patterns and elements. This approach allows for diverse applications, including branding, packaging, fashion and textiles, and interior design. The course emphasizes hands-on work, transitioning from hand-drawing to the use of digital tools to create tangible prototypes for visualization projects. Through these practical experiences, students will develop essential skills for real-world (simulating) design work.

Product Design (3D) Workshop I offers a hands-on exploration of fundamental concepts in product design. Through a series of engaging projects and activities, students will develop a deep understanding of the product design process, from concept generation to prototype creation. The course emphasizes the integration of aesthetics, functionality, and user-centered design principles, grounded in a foundational understanding of the end-users. Basic research and surveys are conducted to gain insights into user preferences. Based on this research, students engage in fundamental product design drawing and use digital tools for visualization. The course primarily focuses on individual work initially, gradually transitioning to team projects, providing opportunities to practice basic digital tools for visualization. Through this course, students will acquire the foundational knowledge and skills necessary for product design.

Physical Design (4D) Workshop I is a course that delves into the exploration of materials and their properties to create design outputs. It covers the process of contemplating both materiality and immateriality and expressing the results of this contemplation. Students are exposed to various techniques and approaches for implementing designs. Additionally, they develop an understanding of the physical properties that form the foundation of design work, allowing them to contemplate both materiality and immateriality, and express these concepts effectively. The course not only focuses on visualization but also builds fundamental knowledge about emotions and sensations in physical spaces. It provides students with practical exercises in which they can apply their knowledge to create designs that evoke emotions and sensations within physical environments. The course encourages students to contemplate the sensory and emotional aspects of spaces, leading to the visualization of these concepts. Through this process, students initiate their exploration of space (spatial) and environmental design considerations, ultimately acquiring the foundational knowledge and skills required for design work in these areas.

Typography I is an introductory course that focuses on the fundamental principles and practices of typography in Latin Alphabet and Hangeul (Korean). Students will learn about the basic theory of typography and basic hand-drawing typeface design for Latin Alphabet & Hangeul (Korean Alphabet). Through hands-on projects and exercises, students will develop essential typographic skills and gain an understanding of how to use type as a powerful design element. Typography is one of the most fundamental and foundational elements in design. In other words, it is the primary and fundamental material in the visual aspect of design, reflecting the most basic cultural aspects. Learning typography holds significance in establishing the foundational knowledge for visualization in design, allowing students to grasp the basics and understand the essence of design. Through this course, students will acquire fundamental typographic skills, laying the groundwork for visual design and comprehension.
