Engineering drawings play a crucial role in the engineering design process, offering a comprehensible representation once familiarity with drafting conventions is attained. These drawings extend beyond apparent visuals, providing substantial information about technical solutions. When accompanied by standardized ideograms or annotations, engineering drawings serve as an optimal means of communication among stakeholders engaged in the design and product development phases. Due to their versatility, engineering drawings typically fulfill at least one, and often all three of the following purposes:
- Communication
- Visualization
- Documentation
The course “Freshman Design” focuses on the significance of engineering drawings as powerful tools in the design landscape. As students delve into this course, they will learn to decipher and employ drafting conventions, unlocking the ability to effectively comprehend and create engineering drawings. These drawings, coupled with standardized ideograms and annotations, will become the primary mode of communication, facilitating seamless interaction among diverse stakeholders involved in the design and product development processes.- Teacher: MOHAMMED AWAD
